Little Things Mean A Lot
I found this leaf so beautiful. It fell in such a way that it was lodged between two floorboards on my balcony. We had some beautiful, sun shining days in Oregon, for a change, and there she was every morning. When the wind blew, she would move slightly but she hung in there. I would open my curtains every morning hoping to see my beautiful leaf and when I saw her I would smile.
This week, however, it has been very windy and rainy, which has been pushing down my leaf. It is almost all the way through the floorboards. I know that she will fall through soon. I don’t know what was so captivating about this leaf. However, what I do know is that I found her beautiful and she brought me joy for the time she was stuck on those floorboards. She gave me something to look forward to and something to smile about.
At the end of it all, for me, little things mean a lot, they always have. I think we should all take the time to find the beautify and joy in the little things and let ourselves fully appreciate them. I hope that whatever your leaf is, that is has brought you unexpected and inexplicable amounts of happiness. Allow yourself to feel that joy without judgment from yourself or others. Celebrate whatever makes you feel good, both big and small. Let yourself be in wonder of life’s everyday miracles. Life is too short to not enjoy the little things.
What is your leaf? What has brought you unexpected joy? How did you allow yourself to feel the joy/happiness?
